SOLUTION


Because we realized this happens too often, J. VAZCO, INC. decided that it had to get into laying high-quality concrete flatwork, because concrete polishing can only be great when both the finished floor and polishing are of top quality.  Already a success with our pioneering CPS® or Concrete Polishing System, the company had added to our roster a proprietary CFS® : Concrete Flatwork System, precisely to address this drawback.  The superior flooring in Wilcon’s San Jose Del Monte branch are proof of the need to have high-quality flatwork to have superior polished floors, as well as proof of our expertise in both polishing and flatwork.

Concrete that’s not poured properly will usually begin showing defects after a few months. In some cases it may take few years.  In S&R Lipa the spalling and blowouts in their concrete floor became very apparent and it was badly in need of repair.  However the store was in full operation and could not shut down for renovation.


SOLUTION


Using a specialized Cementitious Product overlay from Bonddex, we can pour a 10-mm thick quick drying special concrete that can cover the disintegrating surface and give new life to the floor.  This concrete has a curing time of only 2 to 3 hours and high strength of 8000psi in five days, and we can start grinding right after.  This allowed us to repair the floor without interrupting S&R’s work hours.  The next day we proceeded with honing and polishing to give their floor our Concrete Polishing System finish.

SOLUTION


BMW and San Miguel accepted the mock-up as the imperfections of their floor were pointed out to them:  From cracks, slight discoloration of the concrete, numerous unsightly holes created by the removal of tiles, and the randomness of the exposed aggregates.  Despite all these, we were able to polish their floor beautifully, as mocked up.  Fortunately, this client understood the beauty of concrete, where the irregularities and imperfections create a “natural” look.

The World Trade Center is an 8,000 sq. m. project in Pasay that had to be finished within 8 days because they already had a number of events scheduled.


SOLUTION


To accomplish this task, they would need a company with enough available manpower, machines, and materials to complete the restoration project within their timeline.  We managed to achieve this using 6 heavy duty 3-phase grinding machines from HTG, a team of 43 workers, and materials that we always have on stock for eventualities like this one.  The work was done with time to spare with a lead time of only six days to mobilize, despite having multiple projects all over the country, and the client was able to hold their events on schedule.

The Menarco Tower in BGC––already a pre-certified LEED GOLD Tower––is the first building in the country to register and acquire WELL Certification.  The WELL Building Standard measures a set number of features built into the building designed to protect the users’ well-being while LEED is a global rating system that rates sustainability standards for buildings.

In 2016, the Menarco Tower developers needed a supplier for their multi-level parking floor.  As a bidder, we made a mock-up and they were satisfied with our work.  However, because we were competing with several sub-contractors, we lost the bid because of costs.  It is company policy that we do not dive in a bid just to get a project.  We do the work the right way, never cutting corners because we believe our clients deserve the highest quality work.


SOLUTION


Two months after awarding the project to another polisher, Menarco called us asking if we could take over the project.  The awarded contractor was not able to achieve the finish that was required and agreed upon.  We stepped in and finished the job to the Menarco group’s complete satisfaction.  Our advantage is the time we put into every project, the top-of-the-line machinery and materials that we do not scrimp on, and the training and discipline that is ingrained into our team.  This quality is what we always work to give our clients.  Our competitors claim they can achieve the quality of work that we do, but the shorts cuts and lack of expertise come out in the end.
